Food Matters because a staggering number of Americans suffer from obesity and other food-related maladies. This film takes a timely and hard-hitting look at how the food we eat is helping or hurting our health, and what we can do to live (and eat) better. This clear, convincing documentary will open your eyes to good nutrition. The doctors, scientists and writers don’t advocate a substitute for medical care. They do remind us of “the doctor within” and how to take responsibility for our own health first. Remember the words of Hippocrates: Let thy food be thy medicine, and thy medicine be thy food. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! This is a great documentary! It gave me a lot of great information that I was not aware of before. I have watched several documentaries on food and I like how this one also included the medicinal side of health as well. The overall premise of the film, that healing is accomplished by nutrition and not drugs for the most part is, in fact, based on very sound science. This discusses how to be healthy and debunks the medical industry’s reliance on pharmaceuticals. This show documents the American medical establishment’s bias against nutritional therapy. There is mention of the multi-billion dollar cancer and pharmaceutical industries. We will look back on this time — of nutrition information that was squashed and toxic drugs that cannot heal — as a very dark time in medical history. People do indeed need to wake up, and are waking up, to the fact that their health is largely in their own hands. As a doctor and nutritional expert, I’m for any media that educates the public regarding the dangers of modern industrial agriculture and advocates eating organic foods – raw or lightly cooked. This knowledge will be of interest to a new generation of health care professionals and to those who are fascinated by good nutrition as the basis for good health. The overall theme and advice is well-worth heeding by everyone. There is a lot of good information in this video. For the past 22 years, I have been doing nutritional research. This includes Herbs, Vitamins, Minerals, Water, and Food etc. Personally I was very ill and I did change to a lifestyle very similar to the one talked about in the documentary. My health has changed drastically for the better, and I do not need any medications anymore. I urge people to do research on the ideas presented here. I did a great deal of reading after watching this, and even met a person whose sister survived terminal cancer by using vitamin C IVs. I applied the principles in this film to myself, eating an 80% raw diet, and using vitamin C in larger dosages. My energy increased, my cysts disappeared, I didn’t get the colds that others got in cold season, and my allergies decreased. This film is worth the watch and study. I recommend it. Well-done.
